The most fun we’ve ever had in our living room (UPDATE: WINNER ANNOUNCED)

Today is someone’s lucky day. I’m so excited about this I can hardly stand it.

OK, I guess I should back up. About a month ago the awesome people over at Xbox emailed me and asked if I would like to work with them. And I was all ARE YOU KIDDING ME, IT’S XBOX!

Seriously, ever since the first time I saw the commercial…you know the one…where YOU are the controller? I shouted, “HOLY CRAP THEY’RE IMPLANTING GAME CHIPS INTO PEOPLE’S BRAINS.”

I called out to the kids, “Come in here quick! Look at this! George Orwell wrote about this way before you all were born. And now it’s coming TRUE!”

Suddenly I was torn, emotionally. Should I be excited about the turn technology had taken? Or should I run to the kitchen and make everyone an aluminum foil helmet. And perhaps, a sandwich. What. We’re gonna stop eating?

I looked at Harley who was giving me a rather peculiar look-sy. “Mommy, it’s called Kinect. And it’s cool. We should get one.”

And so…when I got the email from Xbox I thought I’m the best mom EVER!

A few days later an enormous box arrived on our front porch. When we brought it inside and cut open the top, a gold beam of light followed by a choir of heavenly angels came spilling out from under all the styrofoam peanuts.

Immediately Ethan knew just what to do. Funny, the man has trouble recognizing letters in his own name, but knows how to hook up gaming systems. Someone please explain this to me.

Anyway.
