Lately, pretty much every idea for a recipe, craft, or snarky comment comes from Pinterest. Seriously, men have fantasy football. Women have Pinterest. (As seen on Pinterest)
See?
I officially have no original ideas. Which is good because what…I’m supposed to be funny, doting, smart, *AND* come up with *EVERYTHING* too?
There are not enough hours in the day, people.
So in keeping in the spirit of copying everyone else’s ideas, I now know what the little kids are going to give their classmates for Valentine’s Day. And because I wanted to show you so that you might, in turn, copy my copied idea, I have already assembled the treats WAY in advance. So you have plenty of time to do this too.
First things first though, I want to give proper credit to the clever girl I copied. She has great ideas. Check out her blog here.
Everything about this Valentine treat makes me happy. And the kids LOVE THEM.
To make these you need…
cellophane bags
ribbon
plastic shovels
M&Ms or some other candy (I added Kisses too)
Printed labels or paper tags

Printing labels would probably be the easier and less time consuming way to go, but I’m an idiot when it comes to trying to figure out how that whole process works. So, instead I bought a paper punch at the craft store, punched out the cute little circles, and then wrote on them with pink and red paint markers.
I think they turned out fabulous.

If you want to do this, here are a few tips.
ORDER THE SHOVELS ASAP. I had a hard time finding them because apparently a lot of people are also making these for Valentine’s day, or there’s a real plastic shovel shortage that no one seems to be addressing. I finally found them on Ebay, from a company called Talisman-Jean’s Plastics.
They were cheap. $24 for a set of 36. And they come 12 of each color: red, pink, and white
Also, I ordered the M&Ms from the M&Ms website, but yesterday at Target I saw that they’re packaging them in Valentine’s colors, so save yourself the shipping and just go to Target.
Hope this helps you! Happy Valentine’s Day!

I love Pinterest but they set the craft bar WAY to high for mere (lazy) mortals like myself.

That’s a really cute idea! And now that I caved, I f-in caved, I’ll find you on Pinterest, and possibly steal a few ideas or more. Possibly.
