Awesome! It reminds me of a sign my sister and I created once. My dad can’t stand for anyone to pass him on the road, and he is a crazy aggressive driver. We were rather bored in the backseat, so we started holding up a sign for passing drivers that read “Honk to annoy our dad.” They did, and he was sufficiently annoyed (which made him drive faster and mom yell louder).

Best part is, my sister and I were about 17 and 19 when we did that.

Hey, are you going to do a post on Valentine’s Day bull crap? I just wrote a nice little ode to the lovely day:

Girl, you’re singing my anthem. If I tell my girls to bring me a nice, oaky chardonnay, they know what to fetch. If I tell them Mom wants a big Zin, they’re on it.
We’re training them up right like that.

This is why I don’t have kids. Or wine.

During the frustrating “witching” hour of the evening last Thursday (you know, between about 4 and 6 when the rugrats are tired, Mommy is DONE, and yet it is still too early to put them to bed because these are the kind of kids you have to feed EVERY DAY), my 6-year-old looked at me rubbing my temples after yelling at him and his sister to STOP THE LOUDEST SCREAM CONTEST, and said, “Mommy, do you need a cocktail?”

I kid you not. Now if I can just teach him how to make a dirty martini, my attempts at becoming the facetious Mother-of-the-Year will be complete.

If you lived in the Midwest, I would say that you were having a normal day. These dreary, cold winter days with no sunshine drives us Moms to the brink. Oh, for warm sunny days when the kids can play outdoors!!!

One of the best things I ever taught my kids was to open a bottle of wine. It really pisses off my son when I text him (because I am too busy reading blogs) to bring me a glass of wine. But he does it anyway. It was also pretty awesome when they learned how to work the remote when they were 3 or 4 so I didn’t have to wake up and turn on the tv for them.

MY kids would pretend to be in dire need of remedial reading lessons….like NOW…they’re all looking over my shoulders while I’m typing this on my laptop asking me insipid questions. AUGH…..and of course, I don’t drink.
*sigh*
