if you’ve been here for awhile, you know how much i love working at the homeless shelter. tommy and i wanted to do something nice for the people who’ve captured our hearts, so i came up with the idea to make my famous key lime pie cheesecake (the recipe that’s in the back of my book, heaping spoonful). so with the help of some of our friends (thanks tabitha, monika, and tamara!), we cranked out 82 pies! it was fun, but exhausting! i felt like i’d been hit by a truck! needless to say, it will be awhile before i get a craving for key lime cheesecake. something about making 82 of them in one day will do that to a person.
key lime pie thursday

you have an industrial mixer in your kitchen? awesome!
Honestly though, that was so very sweet of you. Even though we all know you only volunteer to keep yourself from being kicked out of heaven *wink*
no, that’s not my kitchen! thank god. if i had all that equipment my family might expect me to COOK!
and…i’m already SO kicked out of heaven that no amount of good deeds will undo it.
Did the homeless people like the pies?
If I tell you I’m homeless will you make me a pie?
mike–
that was a shitty thing to say!
mike,
i’m gonna let you off the hook. i thought it was funny.
by the way, with that attitude no one will make you a pie.
where did you get your peace sign shirt?
the shirt came from target. gotta love it!
Don’t knock Mike. He’s not the kind of guy who would pass up pie.
